Pea Protein Isolate Petfood

The wet process produces pea protein isolate (>80% on dry basis). Pea protein is an excellent protein with several essential amino acids and additional vitamins, minerals and fibers that pets need. However, peas are lower in some important amino acids, like methionine, valine and tryptophan. As a result, other sources of these important amino acids should be supplemented from other proteins, such as meat or chemical sources to achieve a balanced level to meet the pet’s nutrient needs.
