Meelunie is seeking a highly energetic and capable sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced global trading environment. In addition to a proven record of sales success, the ideal candidate will also have trading experience, but if not, will possess the aspiration to develop trading skills. We see this career path growing then into a Product Manager, including purchasing responsibilities.
Location: Meelunie Amsterdam, Headquarters
The Trader has an entrepreneurial spirit, responsible for developing, maintaining and expanding relationships to meet and exceed annual objectives. The Trader will be working closely with domestic and international Product Managers to seize market opportunities. The incumbent will present Meelunie’s full range of products and services to assigned accounts while leading internal support functions to ensure that the customers’ needs and expectations are fully met.
You will spend most of your time “in the field” developing and managing assigned accounts. The position requires at least 20% overnight travel.
• Develop new customers and maintain relations with existing customers.
• Meet and exceed defined volume and trading profit objectives.
• Develop and execute both long-term and near-term strategies.
• Active credit management of your customer portfolio.
• Work closely with Product Managers to uncover opportunities based on market dynamics.
• Develop strong relations with overseas offices.
• Stay well informed about current industry and trends and be able to converse knowledgeably with customers about the trends. Also, provide market input to Product Managers.
• Development of Trading skills: master position taking i.e. short/long.
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows.
• Prepare and present annual sales plans (reviewed quarterly).
• Coordinate contract negotiations to optimize volume and trading profit.
• Trading and/or Sales experience is desirable.
• Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment.
• Confident in building relations.
• Ability to give presentations.
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to create something out of nothing.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
• Ability to build open, trustworthy relationships with other business leaders.
• Intellectually competitive, good quantitative, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Mastering the English language is a must; speaking Dutch and any 3rd language is a plus.
