Customer Application Specialist – Fava Bean Ingredients

About the role
The Customer Application Specialist acts as the critical link between Meelunie’s technical product development and commercial teams. This is a customer-facing, market-driven role focused on translating the functional benefits of our fava bean ingredient portfolio into successful applications across diverse food categories. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Sales, and Marketing to drive adoption, support trials, and co-develop solutions with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Ownership: Lead the customer-facing application strategy for fava bean ingredients (protein isolate, soluble protein isolate, fiber, starch) across key categories: bakery, beverages, sports nutrition, and meat alternatives.
- Client Enablement: Support customers in applying Meelunie’s fava ingredients to their formulations by guiding trials, troubleshooting, and translating technical specs into commercial value.
- Cross-Functional Bridge: Act as the interface between product development and the sales teams, ensuring field feedback informs future product iterations and commercial teams are equipped with application insights. Also, travelling to customers with the Sales Managers is part of the role.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver, in cooperation with R&D and Marketing, internal and external training sessions and sales literature on fava bean applications, including recipe development, functionality, and positioning.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor trends in plant-based applications and identify opportunities for Meelunie’s fava portfolio to meet emerging customer needs.
About you
- Strong understanding of food applications and ingredient functionality, preferably in plant-based proteins.
- Commercial mindset with experience in customer interaction, product pitching, and application support.
- Ability to translate technical data into customer-relevant benefits.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
- Experience in B2B food production or ingredient sales is a plus.
